Guess what time it is....It's time to get off your butts and make 2009 the most healthy year ever! Make tomorrow your last "pig out" day....Begin Thursday morning with a Low Carb Breakfast....deplete your body of all those starches and sweets you've been indulging on since last Halloween! Join a gym and/or hire a personal trainer. If the recession has hit you in a bad way, then purchase the P90X program on ebay. Whatever it is, DO SOMETHING!
Make 2009 the most healthy year of your life!
As for me, I am concerned about my rapid weight loss. Back in October I came down with a cough, a wet cough that lasted for over two months. I sometimes had 5 minute coughing spells where I couldn't get a word out but I kept coughing and coughing. I took some OTC meds I purchased at Walgreens and after 8 weeks of continued coughing, I finally got my butt in gear and took an antibiotic (Keflex). This wiped out the cough in about 8 days! Duh! What a dummy I was, I should have known I had a bacteria and needed some strong meds. Anyway, during that period I noticed my blood glucose levels were high. Anytime a diabetic has an illness the blood sugars get real high. At the same time this is happening the body is not absorbing nutrients so a weight loss occurs. In my case I am WAY DOWN. at the onset of my illness in October I weighed a solid 197 lbs. Yesterday I weighed only 182!!!
I have increased my insulin dosage a bit, increased my protein consumption, started training with heavier weights and longer rest periods in an effort to increase muscle mass.
My immediate New Year's resolution is to get this all corrected and get my weight back up. I am eating very clean and healthy. High protein, moderate fats (healthy fats) and low carbohydrates. I am consuming 5 meals per day and training 4-5 days per week. I will add a little cardio session in at the end of each workout, as cardio tends to lower my blood sugars. Wish me luck!
Happy New Year everyone, make tomorrow (12/31) and safe and fun-filled celebration.
