In praise of bodyweight exercises! The land of no weights!


Do you need to perform heavy weight training to build a great physique? Take a look at this gymnist above, a product of NO WEIGHT TRAINING! Does that answer your question?
I personally perform very little weight trainging as bodyweight calesthenics make up 75% of my workout regimen. When I do perform weight training exercises, they are with lighter weights, perfect form, higher reps (12-25 repetitions) and the intensity is kept higher. (The recent photos of me at the beach area testiment to no heavy weights, I have maintained my mass with calesthenics).
So to answer my original question, NO, heavy weight training is NOT a requirement to build a great physique, but INTENSITY is of paramount importance. More on the subject of intensity in a future post.
