From the last couple of postings readers know I decided to give a new technique a try for a few weeks and then I would provide feedback here. Well, overall I am disappointed with the results of this slow motion (each complete repetition taking 14-15 seconds to complete). Here are pro's/cons:
Pro's:
1)Great cardio effect...dramatically raises heart rate
Intense! ....It is very intense, both physically and mentally, you pour with sweat!
2)DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness)...does increase soreness due to emphasis on negative (eccentric) portion of repetitions
3)Injury prevention...is would be extremely difficult for this type of training to result in injury, due to lack of momentum during training
Cons:
Really, there's only two but they are BIGGIES....
1)Lack of function....this training simply isn't functional for any activity....nothing we ever do is slow (well, my wife will brag that I do make love to her slow, but that's the only thing! LOL!)..
By slowing the rep speed down so much, there is no functional benefit to the routine.
2) Strength Loss....YES, that's right...I lost strength in normal exercises ising a normal cadence. When I tested my strength on Bench Press and Incline Dumbell Press I had lost valuable strength....this is a major rule violation....and grounds for termination (of the program that is)...you cannot get bigger without getting stronger, it's is a scientific impossibility. You must increase strength in order to adequately create a stimulus to increase muscle size...in one word...OVERLOAD
What now?
I have a new training routine up my sleeve and I am dying to let you in on it....but I plan to publish it in the form of an e-book and offer it for sale at a later date, along with a diet that will absolutely ROCK! This diet and exercise program will be so effective that they will come with a money back guarantee. They are that damn good.
Results? Track record? I had a 44 year old mother lose 4 dress sizes in 7 weeks and her strength and muscle tone increased dramatically. But most of all, she feels so much better and where before she was so self-conscious, she is now extremely confident and is now extremely social! That is what was most rewarding for me personally.
I plan to work on this during the Christmas holidays and release the e-book early next year. If you simply can't wait that long it will be available in the form of a word document (abbreviated form) by next weekend. Email me and we can arrange payment through PAYPAL.
ktaylor966@yahoo.comThe complete (long version) e-book will be selling for $69. The abbreviated version is $39. AND you will only pay $10. more for the e-book when it is available.
Word Doc....you'll receive a complete breakdown of the workout as well as a breakdown of the diet.
The E-book will provide more details, photos, expanded routine as well as quick, easy recipes.
